Hello and welcome to my journal. My name is Erin Saver. I started this journal in April of 2011 when I thru hiked the Pacific Crest Trail. That experience forever changed my life when I became known as "Wired" to the backpacking world and this journal spread worldwide to become one of the most followed blogs in thru hiking. I have completed hiking's Triple Crown by thru hiking America's three longest trails: Pacific Crest Trail(2011), Continental Divide Trail(2013), and Appalachian Trail(2014). I use this journal to share those journeys and many more long distance hikes I've taken. I am fortunate to go on long hikes every year and I look forward to bringing everyone along to vicariously experience these trails and share the journey. The tabs above and archives to the left can assist you in finding what you're looking for. The "Blog Posts" tab shows ALL of my posts starting with the most recent. I have created other tabs for those just looking for my thru hike journals. At the top left corner of the journal is a search box you can use to find specific places, keywords, or topics.

This blog is evolving and has already surpassed anything I could have ever imagined. For now, I will predominantly use this journal to document my longer hikes, but I am an avid backpacker in my daily life. If you are interested in more regular updates, information, and photos, follow me on Facebook or Twitter. For those of you not on Twitter, you can still click on the Twitter feed on the left of this page to see what I've been up to. I look forward to bringing you all along on this EPIC and AWESOME JOURNEY!
